As you can imagine this will be an ongoing work, but will eventually build up into a comprehensive resources for students and teachers.

IB Physics HL: Teaching & Assessment Calender
This calender I used last year, it will need updating to fit in with your teaching year.
Note the time allotted to each topic in teaching hours is as the syllabus sugests. In practice you will need to get through the topics quicker, ideally you should finish the CORE and most of the course work, Interanl Assessment, (Design, Data Collection & Processing and Concluding & Evaluating) in the first year (Year 12).
In the second year (Year 13) you should have the coursework completed and marked by the end of the first term (December) allowing you to concentrate on the two chosen Higher Level Options in the second spring term. This gives you the short summer third term for revision and exam practice for the final summer exams.
Note the calendar is based on Higher Level teaching: 6 lessons each week each lesson of 40 minutes.
I arrange the time table into 3 doubles (1hour and 20 minutes) each week and I have both the HL and SL students timetabled for these six periods: the first two doubles I teach the HL and SL students together. The third double of the week is used for practical work and coursework assessment. During this third double lesson I can call in both groups since the SL students are off timetable for other subjects and are free to come in with the HL students whenever I want them.
This way I cover all the practical hours needed in the first 4 terms.

This scheme of work for the IB physics has internal links to individual blank lesson plans which can be updated by the teacher as the course progresses
Teacher Resource 3: Checklist for IB Practicals
This is a useful checklist for marking students courswork.
Individual Student's IB Physics Record of Achievement Spreadsheet for Tracking Progress and Reporting
Useful for individual student record of progress and generating reports.
As a record of achievement it may be used to regulalry update parents with student progress.
The parent can be updated by making the spreadsheet available online using a username and passward by sending a printed copy home for parent's signature and feedback.
ALL boxes must be ticked for each aspect to give a complete mark - if not either partial or not at all
Science Group Grades Spreadsheets
Resources 5 & 6 automatically produces an average test percentage score, grade and IB level (GPA) for a student, it also produces class averages.
You will need to expand THE COLUMNS C, D, F AND G to see the student's individual averages.
Check the print preview - only the averages are displayed for printing - useful for reports.
These class grade sheets should be really good for keeping track of group progress.

GOLDEN RULES
Golden Rules to achieve the best out of your students doing coursework assignments:
In Year 12 the initial setting of practicals used to train the students in how to design, carry out and write up practicals should be VERY descriptive.
Teach them how to do everything: to Design an investigation, how to carry out Data Collection & Processing and Concluding & Evaluation, measurement and uncertanties, use of data loggers for measurement and graph plotting etc, these skills do not come naturally.
Show them a good scientific paper as an example or a previous student's work who has achieved complete marks - mark it together noting why the student achieved full marks..
These intial training practicals are NOT ASSESSED except to give feedback and training.
When you are satisfied that they have the skills in place you can then set open research questions for assessment.
In Year 12 after training give them numerous opportunities to improve their marks.
They should towards the end of Year 12 carry out TWO full investigations (D, DC&P, C&E) giving you the opportunity to bank a complete set of marks.
When giving feedback on a student's work I usually sit with them and go through it, giving them general advice for improving the mark - this is where the check list comes in handy.
I only mark and annotate their completed work once - this then goes into the mark bank.
RULE: First Draft - Feedback Only: Completed Work - Marked and Annotated - Marks recorded.
Only give them ONE WEEK to write things up or change a draft - ANY LONGER THAN THIS AND THEY LOSE WORK OR FORGET WHAT YOU'VE TOLD THEM.
